What Civitatis is

Civitatis sells guided tours, excursions and activities, and is one of the leading platforms for Spanish speaking travellers in Europe and Latin America. It runs its affiliate program itself and says plainly that it does not use affiliate networks, so that the whole commission reaches its partners.

What it pays

Commission is 8% to 10% of each sale, depending on your monthly sales volume. Unusually, Civitatis also pays a fixed €1 per participant over 12 on its free tours, which most tour platforms do not pay on at all. It says its average sale is over €100.

Two partner friendly rules stand out. If your rate rises and your sales then drop, Civitatis keeps you at the higher rate for three months. And it pays commission on cancellations where it does not refund the customer, because it still charged for the service.

Tracking and payment

The cookie lasts 30 days. Commission is paid monthly for the previous month's activities once they have taken place, by bank transfer or PayPal. Refunds, cancellations with a refund and fraud are deducted from the next payment.

The rules

• No brand bidding on Civitatis or related keywords in Google Ads or any contextual network.
• Not for social only partners. Civitatis says it does not currently work with partners who rely only on social networks.

Our take

Clear terms, a rate that does not drop straight back after a slow month, and commission on free tours make this one of the fairest tour programs we have seen. You need a website, not just social accounts. Ungraded until there is a payout record.
